About Overblue

Overblue is bluetooth P2P program for Android platform. It creates bluetooth network between its users and allows them to chat and to share/download/send files (social stuff pending). Resulting network can be of any size, number of simultaneously connected users is not limited (though 100 is estimated as reasonable maximum). Also network can span any distance, i.e. data (chat message, for example) is not sent directly, but rather goes through other devices (P2P stuff).
Every user in the network is totally anonymous, you can name yourself as you like, and provide as many details about yourself as you want. You are identified in the network by unique id, which is actually a public key from one key pair + private key from another. This allows you to verify that it is really you + allows others to send you data that nobody else can decipher. Corresponding private + public key counterparts are stored privately as file and can be exported as you change phone. No binding whatsoever is made to your bluetooth address, IMEI, phone number, etc.
...

Well, enough with explanations for now.
The idea is obvious but somehow there is no such program yet. I suppose the difficulty is in bluetooth network formation and routing. There are tons of pdf papers on bluetooth networking! Also dont forget those incapable bluetooth chips, some of them simply do not support scatternets.

Anyways... I think the idea is cool and worth trying. And worh competing for ADC prize too ;)

Let there be bluetooth P2P!
